The conditions are tough here, y’all. We spent the first week going around and hearing the stories of the refugees. We saw the tough living conditions, the small portions of food, and the hopelessness in the people.
I’ve spent the last two days sitting in this hut in the middle of a refugee camp deleting and rewriting my words. The last time I learned this much about a specific crisis in this short amount of time is probably never.
As of today, January 26, 2018, we have been in Uganda for nine full days. If this is your first time checking out my journey, I am currently living in Rhino refugee camp in northern Uganda, which houses over 2 million South Sudanese refugees.
What we do with what we learn from these places in need is what makes the difference going forward. How can people get the resources they need to survive if they can’t even reach the ones that have it? How do we change that? That’s the real question.
